DIM (diindolylmethane) is a compound derived from cruciferous vegetables like brocolli and kale. When a constituent of these vegetables (indole 3 carbinol) comes in contact with the stomach acid in the presence of enzymes found in the vegetable, a new compound DIM, is formed. DIM is powerful compound that many tout for being the reason cruciferous vegetables are so good for you. I use it clinically when regulating estrogen levels and inhibiting excessive aromatase activity is important. I'll often use this when symptoms are showing up with regularity around the menstrual cycle (such as acne, migraines, PMS, and fever). This formulation is great! I'm a big fan of Quicksilver Scientific's products in general because their delivery methods make for the most available form. This is important when my patients are also dealing with chronic gut issues (which is more than half of them.)
