This is a full spectrum binder. I'll use this in patients who are involved in a targeted detoxification protocol. The liver is the main organ of detoxification when it comes to fat soluble toxins (the second organ being the skin). When toxins are removed from circulation the liver expels these toxins through the bile salts, into the Gall Bladder and in turn into the intestines. Once in the intestines these toxins should be carried out of the body, however some amount is typically reabsorbed. The amount that is reabsorbed depends largely on the presence of fiber and binding agents in the intestines. If there are not sufficient binding agents and soluble fiber in the intestines, then a significant amount of the targeted fat soluble toxin will be reabsorbed and detoxification will take significantly longer, and the deleterious effects of the toxin will be multiplied.


Situations in which support of healthy detoxification is appropriate include: weight loss, hormonal imbalance, heavy metal exposure, chemical exposure, elevated cholesterol, mold exposure, and HPA (hypothalamus, pituitary, adrenal) disregulation.
